Welcome to Burlington Volunteer Fire Department

Welcome to the Burlington Volunteer Fire Department’s Website.  The department was established in 1908 as the official Fire Department for the City of Burlington.  In 1952 the rural fire protection district was formed and we cover approximately 850 square miles serving about 3500 residents in far eastern Kit Carson County.

We would like to thank everyone in the Burlington Fire Protection District for their donations and support over the years.  Thanks to each and every employer that allows the firemen to take off work hours to respond to these emergencies and help keep our community safe.   We also would like to thank our families for all the times we get called away from dinner, afternoon outings, sports games or whatever the case may be to provide the services that we provide.
